Family Update

Life has picked up serious steam in the Overby home these past few months. Fall break came and a went, we enjoyed a visit from our good friend Urska, the school weeks seemed to drag on but then looking back they flew by. We celebrated Thanksgiving with Uncle Peter, Batta, and two friends from Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Heather's belly has been growing and growing and growing. Samuel is healthy and very active. Heather was on modified bed rest for part of these past months because the Dr. was concerned about a pre-term birth but everything has been great. Now we are starting Christmas break. Wow!  Here are some photos from the past few months and some of our highlights.

The changing colors of fall in Weimar is always vibrant.

The first big highlight since our last post was the yearly Zwiebelmarkt (Onion Market) where 330,000 people visit Weimar for the weekend.
Before the market we went on a "market scavenger hunt" looking for the signs of the market. Stanley found some onion braids.

Watching the Ferris wheel go up right outside our window is always fun.

All the kids loved riding the Ferris Wheel.

Part of the Zweibelmarkt experience is the food.

Stanley really wanted to do the ropes course at the market which he absolutely rocked.

Both kids took part in the city run.

Holly fell down but still got up and still finished.

Stanley looked great in his run.

Scott ran well in the main 11 km run.

He was fifth overall

And 1st in his age bracket (30-34).

Stuart's new kindergarten.

Walking to Kindergarten in the snow.

Our first (and so far only) snow of the year was in October.

Urska visited us from Slovenia and spent a wonderful week with our family.
Holly had a great time playing with Urska. We all did.

Stuart loves pushing things, including Holly's stroller.

Stanley loves playing Lego on his bed (so Stuart does not get into them).

Girl time with Urska.

Boy time with Uncle Peter.

Urska sang Slovene lullabies to the kids.

Stuart loved his chocolate bread.

Saying "see you later" to Urska.

Leaving for school in the morning.

The bike pack up.

Holly enjoying "home school" with mom on her one sick day.

Heather is a beautiful pregnant mommy.

Sibling love.

Making gum drops with mommy.

Out for a Weimar walk.

Enjoying a treat at a bakery.

Stuart giving Heather some hugs.

Stanley had a school play.

Outings with Daddy to let Mommy rest.

We are so blessed!

Stuart loves his hats.

Lantern festival at Kindergarten.

Holly and Mommy enjoyed some girl time together and did spa treatments at home.

Stuart knows how to get people to laugh.

Stanley has become an excellent reader.

We enjoyed our American Thanksgiving with our friends.

Uncle Peter cooked.

Shamir, Charmista, and Batta joined us.

Our cool boys.

Stuart loves it when people read to him.

That brings us to Christmas. Hopefully I can get another post made sooner than later. Samuel is due any day now, so we are waiting and anticipating his arrival. Just like we can anticipate Christmas and celebrating the birth of Jesus. Thank you for taking the time to get a picture of our life in Germany.
